Autopsy performed in Belding shooting case
BELDING, Mich. (WZZM) -- An autopsy completed Thursday morning at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing will help the Ionia Co. prosecutor determine whether any crimes were committed in a Belding man's shooting death early Wednesday morning.
Wednesday evening, Belding police identified the shooting victim as Eric Harrington, a 35-year-old Belding resident. The alleged shooter, whose name has not yet been released, is known to be Harrington's girlfriend.
Police had responded to a home around 5 a.m. Wednesday in the 1000 block of Oakwood Street following reports of a shooting, according to Ionia Central Dispatch.
Michigan State Police assisted Belding Police at the scene.
