Outman sworn in, receives committee assignments

LANSING, Mich. - State Rep. Rick Outman, R-Six Lakes, was sworn into office at the Capitol yesterday at noon, officially taking his place as a member of the 96th state legislature, representing Michigan's 70th House District.

Outman, a small business owner, was elected to his House seat in November. This will be his first term in the State House.

"It hasn't hit me yet, but I’m taking it all in and going with the flow," Outman said.

Committee assignments were also distributed. Outman will sit on the Agriculture, Energy and Technology, and Redistricting and Elections committees

"It is a great honor to serve on these three important committees.  Coming from an agricultural district and background, I will be able to contribute immensely." Outman said.  "At this point, our state needs a comprehensive energy and technology plan.  I look forward to working with my colleagues to usher in a new era of development in Michigan."

Joining Outman at the swearing in was a collection of family members, friends, and neighbors.
