GREENVILLE — The Detroit News recently published a story about Greenville that was negative and misleading.

Oddly, the newspaper used the word “blight” to describe Greenville. The Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce has decided to turn those lemons into lemonade.

The 16th Annual Belding Community Showcase will take place on Thursday, April 19, 2012.

Belding Area Schools, in cooperation with the City of Belding, will host the 16th Annual Community Showcase. The event will be held on Thursday, April 19 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Belding High School.  You won’t want to miss this huge community event—mark your calendar now!

Representatives and students from the schools, as well as many community organizations and businesses*, will be there to showcase their activities and projects.  Displays and demonstrations will be running continuously throughout the main floor and gymnasium of the high school.  There will be snack stations scattered throughout the building.

Spectrum Health United Hospital holds groundbreaking ceremony

GREENVILLE - Spectrum Health United Hospital's United For Health project officially began on Friday with a groundbreaking celebration at the hospital.

"This is a joyous occasion," said Dr. Domenico Ausiello, a Spectrum Health United Memorial Foundation board member.

The project includes development and renovation of the Stanley and Blanche Ash Emergency Department, Bill Braman Family Diagnostic Center, Ray and Mary Tower Main Lobby, Patient Access and Registration and the Cardiology Center.

"Today is far from the beginning of the project," Ausiello said. "It's been years in the making."
