There will be an informational meeting held at the Depot on May 19th at 1:00 p.m. for those interested in gardening at the Belding Community Garden. Garden plots are available on a first-come-first-serve basis, they are free of charge, and you garden on your own schedule. Come have your questions answered and sign up for your space.

Space use forms are also available at City Hall, by download here, or you may Call Andrea Belding at 616-240-1472 for more information.

Forms to contribute to the Sponsor a Bed, Pave the Path, Build the Garden Donation Campaign are also available here on the City website.

BMS Taco Dinner Fundraiser

BMS Taco Dinner Fundraiser

The BMS Student Council and the National Junior Honor Society are sponsoring a Taco Dinner at the VFW Hall in Belding on Friday, May 11 from 5-7:30 p.m.  This is an all-you-can-eat taco bar and the cost is $6 per per person.  The proceeds from this event will help to pay for the BMS all-school end of the year picnic.

Michigan Fiber Fiesta

Bring the family out to Klackles Orchard Pavillion at 11466 W. Carson City Road in Greenville on Saturday, May 19 from 10am-5pm for this celebration of the Fiber Arts. Admission and parking are free.

There will be educational exhibits & demonstrations for all, along with vendors with their latest trends in textiles & yarn. Check out the Spinning Circle, live animals, hands on activities and more.

Greenville Video Contest Launched

Announcing the "Join in. Speak out. Video Contest"! Greenville residents are invited to get creative, have some fun, and enter a one-minute video demonstrating how awesome Greenville is. Videos should fit into one of three themes:

  •  "Building Greenville" showing the construction & growth happening around town;
  •  "Fun in Greenville" highlighting recreation, sports, the arts, festivals, music, etc; or
  •  "Paying Our Way in Greenville" showing people working in Greenville

There are cool prizes for winners in each category (like a Kindle Fire....) and a "Join in. Speak out." t-shirt for the first 20 videos received. Simply submit videos on the Chamber's Facebook page. Videos may be submitted until May 15th at midnight.

GREENVILLE — The Detroit News recently published a story about Greenville that was negative and misleading.

Oddly, the newspaper used the word “blight” to describe Greenville. The Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce has decided to turn those lemons into lemonade.
