SMASH Park's smashing success: Expansion already planned
BELDING, Mich.—A disc golf park that’s only been open to the public for about a month is already looking to expand.
SMASH Park is Belding’s first disc golf park. It’s been such a smashing success, park leaders are looking to add another nine holes to the current nine-hole course. On Tuesday, August 20, the Belding City Council will consider authorizing the expansion. The proposal was previously reviewed and recommended by the city’s recreational advisory board.
SMASH Park opened to the public in early July, after volunteers cleared space and installed baskets in Lightning Bend Park. The SMASH League opened July 22.
SMASH Park will hold a beginner tournament, including disc golf clinic Saturday, August 31. For more information, visit the group’s Facebook page here.
