MI House Representative Takes A Flying Leap

It was a cold February day when MI House Representative Lisa Poshumus Lyons took a flying leap into a freezing pool for charity. It was the Legislative Polar Plunge at the Capitol Building in Lansing for Special Olympics Michigan Athletes. About 20 Michigan Legislators, plus Lt. Governor Brian Calley lined up to show their support for Special Olympics Michigan. The second annual Legislative Polar Plunge raised more than $30,000 to benefit children and adults with intellectual disabilities. This Polar Plunge was one of 28 Polar Plunges throughout Michigan from January through this month to benefit Special Olympics Michigan.

Belmont 1.24% lost

These percentages are based on the people who have weighed in weekly. The final weigh-in on Monday, February 25 from 9am-7pm.

Freese-Decker Named Young Healthcare Executive of Year

Christina M. Freese-Decker, president, Spectrum Health United Hospital and Spectrum Health Kelsey Hospital, has won the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Robert S. Hudgens Memorial Award for Young Healthcare Executive of the Year. The honor is given for outstanding achievement in the field of health care management.

 

The award is given to an exceptional health care executive who is less than 40 years old, is an ACHE Fellow and holds a chief executive officer or chief operations officer position in a health care organization. Freese-Decker will receive her award on Tuesday, March 12, at the Malcolm T.
