Belding graduate Jane Engemann Mayes tonight at Belding Library

The Friends of the Belding Library welcome award-winning poet and Class of 1952 Belding graduate, Jane Engemann Mayes on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at 6:30pm.   Ms. Mayes is the author of "Seeing... Through Nature", and "Drawn in Dust" which will be available for purchase at the program.  Ms. Mayes will be reading her poetry and be available for book signing. 

Reservations are requested.  Please call the library at 794.1450 to make your reservations.

Montcalm County Presidential Primary Election Results

Montcalm County Presidential Primary Election Results

The Presidential Primary Election was held throughout Michigan on Tuesday. In Montcalm County, the majority of voters supported Rick Santorum.

The top three candidates were Rick Santorum with 2,939 votes, Mitt Romney with 2,174 votes, and Ron Paul with 852 votes.

Voter turnout for the election was just over 20%.

Leadership West Michigan Graduates 27 in December 2011

Leadership West Michigan Graduates 27 in December 2011

The 2011 class of Leadership West Michigan (LWM) graduated on December 15, 2011. The class of 27 participated in 8 day sessions over the past 4 months which included a two day bus tour of the region and culminated in Regional Trustee day and graduation.

Jeff Wittung was a member of the Alvah N. Belding Board of Trustees. Jeff passed away on January 10, 2010 of injuries suffered in a car accident leaving his wife, Marne, and daughters Ana and Kate.  At Jeff's funeral his friend told a beautiful story about Jeff's journey to heaven.  That story has now been made into a book called  "JUST LIKE THAT".   The proceeds from the book go to a scholarship in Jeff's name at Mount Vernon Nazarene University.
