Organizers present Rivertown Bike Week Expo plans to the city council

BELDING, Mich.—We’re learning more about the inaugural Rivertown Bike Week Expo, which is planned for July 22 through July 25.

Organizers tell the Belding City Council they will tap local vendors for the event.  Proceeds from Rivertown Bike Week Expo will benefit the local memorial park, community organizations and the Wounded Warrior Project.

Traffic wise, organizers are planning for shutdowns similar to what the city experiences during Labor Day. Depot Street would close and so would portions of parking lots.  Central Riverside Park would be used for vendors.

Restaurant seeking community votes to expand

BELDING, Mich.--  A local restaurant wants to expand, but it needs your vote.

Millie’s Family Restaurant in Belding is in the running for a contest by Intuit, which is granting 15 wishes to help small business spring forward this season. The owners of Millie’s would like to add a new seating patio outdoors in front of the restaurant so customers can enjoy the weather, community and their food.

In Millie’s entry submission, Lora writes, “It’s been very hard with the economic times to make any improvements and still keep our doors [open] and employees working.”

Intuit also plans to award a suite of Intuit products to the top five submissions with the most votes. To cast your vote for Millie’s Family Restaurant, click here.
